Paradise Parking is a new series of work (and soon to be book by the same title) by American-born, Paris-based photographer Peter Lippmann. The photos capture abandoned cars in a state of complete decay as each is gradually consumed by [the awesome power of] nature. My granddad used to collect Humbers (until he moved into a retirement village and lost his ten rickety garages). He lived on acreage covered in bird aviaries (also bred birds. Lots of weird hobbies my granddad has) and down the very back there was an old, completely rusted humber, falling apart. They’d use it for spare parts occasionally, but it mostly sat there. It was amazing - broken windscreen, plants growing inside it, snakes and all sorts inside and around it. It was spectacular.
